Bryden Atwater is a professor of percussion at Troy University in Troy, Alabama where he teaches applies percussion, and conducts the Troy University Concert Percussion Ensemble. Bryden graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and a Masters of Science in Conducting where he has studied with acclaimed wind band composer Mr. Ralph Ford. Bryden is also working as the Percussion Instructor and Arranger for the nationally acclaimed Troy State University ‘Sound of the South Marching Band. He also has works published with Warner Brothers Music. He has studied with Percussive Arts Societies Hall of Fame member Dr. Terrence Mahady of Louisiana.
In recent years Bryden has taught the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps, Lone Star Drum and Bugle Corps from Texas, and Magic of Orlando out of Orlando Florida. Bryden has written and arranged percussion scores for many high school and college drumlines, as well as for Lone Star Drum and Bugle Corps.
As a performer Bryden has played professionally throughout the southeast. He has played with the Lake Charles Symphony in Lake Charles, Louisiana; the Rapid’s Symphony in Alexandria, Louisiana; and the Southeastern Symphony Orchestra in Dothan, Alabama. He has also performed with such artists and educators as Bruce Paulson, Andy Narrell, Bob Moses, James Campbell, Jeff Prospere, Allen Vezzutti, and Victor Lopez.
